Celebrating the New Year with Hanuman ji

In 2000, I started painting Sikh Art as a child of 11 years, for a local Gurudwara academy, at the request of the principal there.

In 2008, I started painting professionally, releasing the paintings of Mai Bhago ji and Baba Deep Singh ji to kick-start SikhiArt.com. This Classic Collection is available to purchase.

Last year in 2024, I finally completed the paintings of all 10 Gurus and Guru Granth Sahib, with the release of Darbar Guru Granth Sahib.

In the 90s, When I was 2-4 years old I did my first drawing of a horse. Fast forward to 2024, I released my painting of Bhai Bachittar Singh ji, which had been in the works since 2008-2009.

Bhai Bachittar Singh ji’s painting underwent many variations before I settled into the final. Perhaps one day I will share the story of its development over the years, and show you how it changed and evolved. It is a painting that I am honoured to have been blessed with.

In 2024, I also completed my painting of Shri Narayan. This was another piece that had been in the works for quite some time, since 2012. It was based on a dream I had in 2011.

Unlike the painting of Bhai Sahib, the painting of Shri Hari ji was set right from the start. I kept adding layers upon layers of meaning on top of the original concept inspired by my dream.

During 2024, I also created many shorts where I discuss spiritual concepts that can be applied to our daily lives.

After Bhai Bachittar Singh ji and Shri Hari ji, my second last painting of 2024, features Hanuman ji meditating on Shri Ram ji.

With this piece, I wanted to expand the original portrait and show the full scene that came to me during meditation.

There are many spiritual concepts that have been distilled down into this single image. Perhaps one day I will share how it developed and reveal the thought process behind this painting.

Now we are in the year 2025.

But we are not done with 2024 just yet.

There is one more painting I am releasing, which was completed in 2024. Keep an eye out for it in the next email.

In 2025, I wish that the Truth, within us all, continues to inspire me to paint the Gods, Gurus and Guardians, and whatever else it wants me to paint. I wish to serve it in any way I can.

Singh and Gun

Background
Ever since I played my first video-game at a young age, I have always wanted to make one of my own.

Recently, while working on my sikh art projects I have been working on a game as well, which I am calling Singh and Gun (working title).

Singh and Gun is a run-and-gun platformer, inspired by Contra and Halo, where you fight alien invaders, who seek to capture earth and to drive humanity to extinction. It is your job to find out what they are upto and to stop their nefarious plans.

As I meditated on the Saints, I grew spiritually, I began to understand the depth of the Indian Epics that Guru Sahibs and their Poets translated for us. Immediately, they filled me with strength and inspiration. So I started creating paintings of the Gods as well, to share that inspiration with you!

New Painting – Banda Singh Bahadur

Upcoming Release – Celebrating Vaisakhi
Be on the lookout for my upcoming portrait of Dasam Pita, Guru Gobind Singh ji. This painting is painted in the traditional pose with Guru Sahib looking up and out into the distance, his face glowing and his expression tranquilizing. This look is combined with the accurate depiction of his turban/dumalla, plume/kalgi and robes/chola that we see in ancient paintings of Guru Gobind Singh ji of his time and of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s time!

Print and Cost Structure Changes
I have been making several changes to the prints and costs in the past few weeks!

-Print changes
To make it easy to hang and to keep it simple, I have now made Stretched Premium Gloss Canvas the default option. These are of great value as we hand-stretch them around thick wooden bars to hold them taught. We also provide a hanging kit so that your canvas is ready to hang on the delivery day. This makes the hanging process hassle-free and you get to enjoy the print sooner!
Rolled canvas option is still available at a discounted cost! Especially good for those who already have the equipment necessary for stretching.

-Size changes
I have added a smaller size, 24 inches, which is more affordable for budget-conscious collectors.
This size also works well with small wall-spaces! It is also ideal for standard frames.

-International Shipping Costs
Shipping charges to United Kingdom and other International locations have always been pretty hefty for us. However I have adjusted them for you guys to make them more attractive.

Any feedback in this area is greatly appreciated. I am experimenting with these things and I will make changes or revert to old system if necessary.

Visuals
While planning to decorate my own home, I created some visuals and noticed how beautiful Harmandir Sahib would look on a pale blue wall. When I tried this with the others, they looked very refreshing. I thought this would be a great visual aid for you guys as well. So I whipped up an entire batch of such Visuals for many paintings. I will create more in the future.

Harimandir Sahib

What I imagine Shri Harimandir Sahib (Golden Temple) might have looked like before it was covered in gold and marble. Its humble origins are of mud and brick, surrounded only by a sacred pool (amritsar), trees and wildlife as it has yet to develop into a large urban community. These swans are the spiritually exalted gursikhs that swim in and drink from that abundant supply of amrit, which comes from the meditation of guru’s name.

Keep an eye out for my painting of Guru Arjun Dev ji. It depicts the martyrdom of Guru Sahib in meditation being tortured on a hot plate with burning sand. I am in the process of painting the final touches.
